GIRL INJURED IN TAIPEI ELEVATOR

On April 23, The China Post reported that a disabled girl was seriously injured when her legs

were caught in a lift she uses to access different levels of her school in Taipei. According

to the report, she tripped and fell as she entered the lift, the doors closed on her legs,

and the elevator began moving. It took the fire department about 20 minutes to free her,

and she required surgery due to the injuries. She has multiple physical disabilities.

The incident is being investigated.
